I was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga and moved to Granville, Oh to attend Denison University.  There I met my future wife, and after graduating, moved to Zanesville, Oh.

After college, I worked as an accountant at a community bank.  After years “climbing to corporate ladder,” I left the bank and my wife and I purchased a coffee shop/cafe. At the same time, I launched a photography business (osbornphoto.net) and started exploring what it meant to live an authentic life dedicated to following the path of a guy named Jesus.

In addition to the coffee shop and the photo business, I was employed by a local church as the worship director. That experience taught me a lot.  Among the lessons is that the current methods and teachings of most mainline churches are not my cup of tea.

About two years ago, a group of us started a little house church and have been trying to figure out life together.

Recently, the opportunity to grow our group has presented itself.  And so we are seeing where this road goes.  Our group has been doing a “formal” service on Sunday nights for over a year now, and it’s going well.  We continue to see new faces each week, and have seen God change lives in some amazing ways.

As this church has grown, my wife and I closed the coffee shop and I enrolled in seminary to pursue formal ministry.

This blog serves as a place to discuss ideas about God, church, and the journey of Christ following.  Nothing is off limits here.

I hope you find it interesting, and I hope you enter the discussion.
